My 2021 Picks: Skincare

Seems like just yesterday I was writing this guide for 2020 :) Can’t believe we made it through the last 2 years, but here we are! And we’ve discovered some great products along the extremely bumpy way…. :)

Hydrocolloid Patches

The discovery of these babies has been a lifesaver. Of course they aren’t something that addresses the hormonal acne, but they are a great product to keep a blemish clean, untouched, and HEALED overnight!

La Roche-Posay Cicablast B5 Balm

Went a little have with the retinol a couple of times this year, so this baby has been a godsend. it is EXTREMELY thick and healing for dry, irritated skin, but very gentle. There is not burning sensation when applied to extremely irritated skin, and though its not an overnight cure, applying this and then slugging has revived my skin a lot quicker than anything else!

Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask

I received a sample of this product from a Sephora purchase and immediately fell in love. It is on the pricier end of what I like to spend on skincare, so I initially bought for nights I need a little extra moisture or healing Vitamin C. However I am so obsessed with the results I can’t help but wear every single night. It has worked wonders for evening out my skin tone.

Dermapore

This year I have done less experimenting with products, and more splurging on tools :)))) My first tool purchase this year was the Dermapore. Like a lot of people, my t-zone is where I get the most oil buildup and I was dying to got my hands on this product! EXTREMELEY effective, I recommend watching some (very satisfying) videos on their Instagram page of how it works. HOWEVER, this does come with a warning!! Your skin is SUPPOSED to have a healthy balance of oil, and could be damaging to get a little enthusiastic using this device. I have in fact dried tf out of my nose after a couple of uses so be cautious!

Dermaflash

After the wildly successful Dermapore results, I was dying to get my hands on this company’s original tool, the Dermaflash. This is a Dermplaning tool that trims peach fuzz, and scrapes away dead skin. If you haven’t heard of this technique I recommend googling to learn more! I love the way it leaves my skin feeling as soft as a newborn baby’s. I focus on the areas around my jaw and cheeks, however it can be used all over face.

NuFace

Now this one is something I have had my eyes on for 3 years… So it definitely wasn’t a SPONTANEOUS purchase, know that before you gasp at the price lol. I was able to get a Cyber Monday deal, and after researching the techniques, over analyzing results, and watching you tubers for again, 3 YEARS, and seeing VISIBLE results, I decided to spurge on this tool as well. This micro current device helps with anti-aging and defining. Initially was captivated by its visibly lifting results, I then started noticing the effect it also has on wrinkles! I do think this is a great habit to get into young as a preventative tool outside botox, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I absolutely love to use this at the end of the night while I am laying in bed watching TV. it just feels GOOD to take care of yourself, so on top of any physical results, it has been a great tool for mental and emotional escapes as well…
